The Books I Love
Get Your Read On.
A Short List of my favorite books. Some you may have heard of and others you haven’t. Great reads though and if you are anything like me you understand the power of literature. And I have ebooks, but print is my favorite still.
Pimp: The Story of my Life.
By Iceberg Slim.
The life story told first hand by robert Beck, a literary genius and considered by some to be the father of rap-the tale dates back to the 20s and tracks his life story from 3 yrs of age on. The man is a genius. Amazing story telling, he pulls you in from page 1.
Shadow Of The Wind.
By Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Lucia Graves.
This book has one of my favorite stories ever. Great read and fabulously interwoven literary intricacies- this book is nothing short of amazing.
48 Laws of Power.
By Robert Greene, one of my fave reads ever. It is considered ruthless by some but the lessons are useful. Also its historical references and layout are vastly intriguing. I’d buy it twice. I won’t say more because the book speaks for itself.
33 Strategies of War.
Another classic by Robert Greene. I love this guy. Having bought all his books I can clearly tell you that this one is as much a game changer as 48 Laws of Power.
Steve Jobs.
The acclaimed biography by Walter Isaacson is a no holds barred look into the life of Jobs. Indeed it could be called a dig as Isaacson went down the rabbit hole that was Jobs. There is a treasure trove of knowledge to be had here and a great read as well. One of the books that is truly amazing my mind. It excites and inspires at the same time.
Only ebook on the list:
How to get a Record Deal.
By Wendy Day.
With 20 years of experience in the hip hop/music/record label game Wendy has seen it all and advocated for some of the best. She helped some of the biggest names in the game- when they were nobody’s. In fact you can’t get her help if she doesn’t respect your art! Good read, factual and concise. Get it fast folks.
BONUS:
–Heavy Hitters Magazine aka HH.
Not a book but a staple in my collection.
Indeed it is the only magazine I buy. Every two months it features insane quotes, cars, and profiles of self made entrepreneurs. People who most of us can relate to.
The most inspiration you can buy for $6 bucks. Guaranteed.
