Not going to get ultra deep here.
Life dictates most of our actions.
The average joe is simply going thru the motions, too busy to be effective, to lead or to make a difference.

Is that you?
Is that your colleagues?
It was me for quite a while.

I wasn’t worried about anyone’s skin except my own. If Tony wasn’t at the top who cared about the dregs.
And I was good.
I made money, saved money and had chicks galore. I had shoes just for dates. Durags that matched umbrellas that matched shoes. Yup I was arrogant and color coordinated.
It was a cool lifestyle, or so I thought.
You see there is no real living when you’re a selfish prick.
Life doesn’t really exist for a real man when he only measured his success by his gains.
It’s like a teacher who gets straight A’s as they move toward a PHD but their students fail. Yup, that’s the bullshit that exists these days.

So Uncle Ben talked about great power-
Are you strong?
If so do you protect the weak?
Are you smart?
If so do you teach those who can’t grasp the basics?

Now some people just want to watch the world burn- Alfred was right.
However do you have the capacity to stop those individuals, even at a personal loss?
Are you willing to lose that the multitude will win?
Do you care more about other people than you do yourself?
Tell me, I’m curious.
In 2013 it seems no one has a vested interest in anything besides themselves.
Is there anything to your life besides your bullshit daily routine?
Do you live beyond your realm- to give to those who need?
I see a lot of people who go to church but don’t build up their neighborhoods.
Now if you read the Bible Jesus fed the masses surrounding Him- and so I ask who are you feeding?
Do you care about other people?
I’m not trying to put you down folks-
I simply want you to be honest with yourselves.

The last quote speaks simply to being honest and living the truth.
Will you live for others or for yourself?
Are other people as important to you as you are to you?
Do you regard others with the same esteem you regard yourself?

You don’t have to, but you won’t live a fully satiated life when you only love you.

As human beings we are interconnected. We need each other. And yes you can’t make it on your own- but do you want too?

I don’t.

As I’ve moved into various leadership positions, and positions where I can speak for others I’ve found that I feel better, live better, and I am better.

It is really that simple.
When you give you get.
When you live to serve, you earn a real living.
And I don’t mean cash flow.
I mean a good sleep at night, a good existence, a true life.
When we don’t lead we follow.
Now we don’t all have to lead but we have to. Be able to follow. A good soldier leads by example- even if he is a grunt.
